Supporting social projects within our community!
A simple, fun and easy concept that makes a real difference to the lives of many!
What we do
Dinners That Matter is a social initiative with the goal of raising awareness to address and engage the U.N.’s missions of no poverty, zero hunger and good health & well-being. We do by fostering community.
DTM is affiliated with the WCPUN (World Council of Peoples for the United Nations), a non-
governmental organization associated with the department of Public Information of the United Nations.
The objective of our collaboration with the WCPUN is to involve the community and local businesses of the cities in which DTM operates with global issues, especially those related to the objectives of sustainability recently adopted by the United Nations (Agenda of 2030 for Sustainable Development).
Each quarter we raise awareness and share knowledge on one of the four causes, highlighting the specific circumstances of those in need.
More than just a number
Besides raising funds our vision is to shine a light on the specific quarterly cause and
institutions supporting them.
Culinary engagement has brought people together since the beginning of humanity. We are continuing this tradition by engaging partnerships with local restaurants, the hospitality industry, and institutions globally.
During quarterly “Dinners That Matter Day, “participating restaurants” on the selected evening, will donate 25% of evening proceeds to a local chosen by DTM social projects, that support initiatives for the selected U.N.’s goals.
Each dinner is addressed to a different cause!
- Q1 (January through March) Thursday March 5th
- Q2: (April through June) Thursday June 5th
Health and Wellness
- Q3: (July through September) Thursday October 8th
Disabilities and Health
- Q4: (October through December) Thursday December 10th
Will be related to a well-known holiday’s community project (p.e. la Marató de TV3)
In order to participate, all you need to do is make a reservation at one of the participating restaurants and go out for dinner on the selected date with your friends!
The direct donation from the restaurants involved and the local nature of the projects we support guarantee transparency and commitment.
Next Dinner: March 03 2020
The ALPAN PROJECT (Food for the Needy) is an initiative for the preparation of meals, as well as transportation and distribution to soup kitchens, which welcome those in need or at risk of social exclusion.
Objective: That nobody goes hungry.
