Every year, around 15,000 people in Spain are diagnosed with one of the main types of blood cancer such as leukaemia, lymphoma or myeloma. Our goal is to improve their well-being, as well as their family and closest friends, standing by them in the most difficult moments. Therefore, working closely with different public hospitals, we have created a Patient Assistance Project which brings together two basic activities:
- Psychological support to blood cancer patients and their families.
- Prevention and treatment of the side effects of the patients after a bone marrow transplant.
On the occasion of GivingTuesday, a global social movement born after Black Friday and Cyber Monday to encourage and multiply the good actions of people, the DKMS Foundation has launched a solidarity challenge to boost its project and reach all patients who need it.
